Trec is coming to Belmead!
Come along to beautiful Belmead for the weekend of 6/29 - 6/30 and take part in a Ride Trec Clinic (on the Saturday only - just $30 for Ride Trec members and $40 for non-members). Come and camp in the wonderful grounds of Belmead, ride the many trails (not normally open to the general public) and learn more about the fun trail riding sport of Trec.
Situated along the James River at St. Frances / St. Emma in historic Powhatan County, Belmead Stables & Riding Club has over 30 miles of horseback riding trails which meander centuries old hardwoods and traverse creeks on 1,000 acres of protected and secure conservation property.
Ride Trec is honored to have been given the opportunity to hold a particularly special "Taste of Trec" style clinic and practise POR (orienteering ride) on Saturday June 29, although camping and other Trec events will be offered over the whole weekend. Camping and catering facilities on offer will be charged separately - see website for details (http://ridetrec.us).
Belmead has also been chosen as the venue for this year's Annual Virginia Trec Challenge Competition to be held in late October. Last year's inaugural competition was held at the Horse Center in Lexington and was very well received by all concerned. The competition was tough, but fair, the weather was wonderful for the time of year, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves - there were some great ribbons and prizes too! If you are thinking of entering this year's contest, then this weekend at Belmead would present an excellent opportunity to polish up your Trec skills and get to know the 'lie of the land' a little more beforehand.
Don't miss a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some excellent riding and beautiful countryside, learn and/or improve your equestrian skills, meet some old friends and/or make some new ones, and most of all to have a great time and lots of fun over the weekend.
