"Everything You Know is Wrong"
This is an exaggeration, of course, but it's meant to underscore that many of the practices and methods adopted in recent decades have been less than productive. Some were done through a lack of knowledge and education, and some were done purely as marketing gimmicks—"buy my product because it's the latest and hottest."
Horses have been trained to ride for thousands of years. The best and most effective methods were developed and perfected long ago. There is nothing new or trendy about how a horse's mind and body work, and that is the basis of Classical horsemanship. Rather than muscling a horse into submission—something that is exhausting and not much fun—you can teach your horse to be a relaxed and willing participant, eager to work WITH you rather than against you.
When your horse achieves its own balance and stability, what is known as "self-carriage," you will find that you are able to accomplish most any goal with your horse using minimal effort on your part. Your horse is comfortable and smooth and eager to do what you ask of it. You will also find that you develop a deep and enduring bond of mutual trust that is much stronger than before.
On this web site we will present information a variety of subjects, many of which may be new to you or different from what you were told. Just remember, this is based on centuries of dedicated work.
