The Enjoy the Ride Horse Fair is a “hands-on” event, with local veterinarians presenting horse-care demonstrations, horse trainers conducting clinics in their areas of expertise, and brilliant equestrian entertainers on horseback!
There will be clinics in Jumping with Mary Schwentker, Dressage with Britta Johnston, and Rider Biomechanics with Bonnie Williams. Area veterinarians will also be conducting educational demonstrations throughout the day. Dr. Ada Caruthers, Rappahannock Equine Clinic, will be demonstrating equine chiropractic; Dr. Julia Wolfe, Woodside North Equine Clinic, will be teaching equine first aid; and Dr. Alishia Oehling, Old Waterloo Equine Clinic, will illustrate how to diagnose performance horse lameness.
Also on the program for the day are the Blue Run Jousting Performers. They will take you back to days of yore, when knights in shining armor competed for the affections of Lady Faire. Knights and their steeds in full battle gear are sure to get even video gamers’ hearts beating!
Then back to circus days, with the Blue Devils Vaulting Team. Imagine acrobatic feats performed on the back of a galloping horse! These riders will amaze and delight children of all ages with their derring-do!
Sure to please old and young alike is Escaramuza Adelita's of Virginia from the Valdez Farm. These señoritas will steal your hearts with their unique style of riding that dates back to the Mexican Revolution. As their traditions are handed down through the family, you will see performers of all ages.
Food will be available for purchase all day, from Moo Thru’s Food and Ice Cream Van, and Manny’s Taco Van. Advance Tickets include a coupon for $10 off a future purchase. Children under 12 are admitted free with an adult ticket-holder. Tickets are available at all CFC Farm Home Center locations, online at www.cfcfarmhome.com and also at the event.
