The Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA) is pleased to announce a return engagement with top show jumping clinician, Ernest Dillon, on April 8, 9, 10, (Saturday Sunday and Monday) at Blue Top Farm in Nokesville, VA. This follows successful Ernest Dillon clinics held by CDCTA in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

Group sessions will be will be 90 minutes, with 4, 5 or 6 riders. A limited number of 45 minute private and semi-private lessons will be offered, so get your entry in early if you want a private lesson. We plan to offer group sessions at 2’ to 2’6”, 2’6” to 3’, 3’ to 3’3”, 3’3” to 3’6”, and 3’6” +. If entries warrant (especially at the lower levels), we will attempt to have separate “green horse” and “green rider” session. If we have at least 4 entries, we can offer a separate session for riders under 12.

Since many of the local schools are on spring break that week, we expect a good turnout on Monday. Riders can sign up for one, two, or three session, but in the case of over-subscription, preference will be given to riders that sign up for multiple days.

Blue Top Farm in Nokesville features rubber footing, in a covered pavilion, with lights, so the clinic will not be disrupted by bad weather or sunset.

Ernest Dillon is a Fellow of the British Horse Society and a highly respected show jumping specialist. His mission is - To put the magic back into the great sport of show jumping and to give every rider and every horse a chance to benefit fully from quality training! He is a classical trainer focusing on the basics- in particular the quality of the flatwork in the approach to the fence – with a positive attitude. You will come out of your session knowing what you need to work on, but also with greater confidence in what you and your horse can accomplish.

Ernest is happy to teach at every level from ‘happy packers’ right through to top professionals in both show jumping and eventing, and has helped riders in both these categories achieve success at national and international level. Based in Britain, he is a sought after clinician, giving frequent clinics in New York, Texas, and California, as well as various locations in Britain. His web site is http://www.ernest-showjumping.co.uk .

Sample comments from earlier clinics include:
“I thought the clinic was brilliant and Ernest Dillon was able to communicate and give constructive criticism without being rude.”

“He is far the best I have ever ridden with including several clinics with G. Morris.”

Stabling is available approximately one mile from the clinic site. For additional information and entry form, go to http://www.cdcta.com/calendar.php
