Cameron Hill is family-operated, full service hunter/jumper program ready to help you achieve your riding goals. We are located in Louisa, Virginia—the heart of beautiful Virginia Hunt Country. Jocelyn and John Martin train, show, and sell quality green hunters and seasoned show hunters, as well as coach riders of all ages and abilities.
Cameron Hill boasts beautiful views of rolling pastures and protected land spotted with deer, foxes, eagles, and hawks. The farm is bordered on all sides with mature trees and shrubs and is set back on the property to provide complete privacy from neighbors and roads and highways. However, Cameron Hill is still centrally located with close access to Route 22, Route 15, Route 64, and is approximately 45 minutes from I-95 and an hour and half from both I-81 and I-66. The farm is minutes from Zion�s Crossroads and downtown Gordonsville where you can find quaint restaurants and antique shopping on Main St., and only 25-45 minutes from the Keswick, Pan Tops, and Charlottesville areas. The 52 acre farm includes a spacious center aisle 12 stall barn with wall to wall stall mats in each stall and a climate controlled office, lounge, tack room, and full bathroom. Additionally, all stalls are equipped with mounted basket fans designed specifically for agricultural use with completely closed motors with sealed ball bearings. There are 2 indoor wash racks with hot and cold water, a feed room with a custom built feed bin to separate and secure feed and supplements, a refrigerator and freezer, and ample trunk/storage space. The property has a flat 125� x 240� outdoor riding ring with all-weather sand footing. The property also features six large turnout paddocks, plenty of acreage to ride out, and parking for clients and visitors.
Jocelyn Martin is co-owner and head rider at Cameron Hill. She is one of the top riders on the 'A' circuit, having garnered numerous hunter championships up and down the east coast as well as qualifying and competing successfully at Devon, PNHS, WIHS and the National Horse Show several times over her junior and professional career. In addition to riding and training show horses, Jocelyn works with young horses, coaches clients, deals actively in sales, and manages the day-to-day operations at the farm. Throughout Jocelyn's junior and professional career she has gained invaluable experience and knowledge by riding for top professionals including: Elizabeth Solter, Olin Armstrong, Pam Baker, Tommy Serio, Emil Spadone, Peg Seals, Louise Serio, Rodney Bross, Jack Stedding, Scotty Sherman, Bradley Caine, Jenny Graham, Phil Ake, Phyllis Jones, and Nancy Peterson. Joce catch rides horses outside Cameron Hill by request. Don't hesitate to ask for a schooling or show ride!
John E. Martin is co-owner and head trainer at Cameron Hill. He competed successfully for many years during his junior and professional career in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation divisions. John also actively worked with young horses and was responsible for starting them under tack and showing them on the line. He continues to train horses and coach clients, as well as scout for talented hunter, jumper, and equitation prospects both nationally and internationally. John is a gifted and knowledgeable trainer and coach who focuses on consistency and rhythm. His patience, kind and calm demeanor, and ability to thoroughly and easily explain his teachings make him an excellent coach. In addition to training and coaching both on and off-site, John currently oversees all business and marketing operations at Cameron Hill, executes training and care schedules, works with young horses, offers clinics, and is available for local judging.
