Peekaboo Rain, aka "Sky", is a gorgeous LOUD chestnut paint mare. She is 8yo, 15-15.1 hh, APHA registered (papers in hand). I got her as a retraining project last fall. Before me, she had one owner her whole life, and always recieved excellent care. She was briefly started as a 3yo and again as a 5yo, but was barely ridden due to no fault of her own. She has now been under saddle for a year, and has been wonderful to work with- easy to train and easy to ride. Same horse whether I work her 3 times a week or once a month. She's ready to find a long-term home where she can finish out her education in your chosen discipline.

Sky is sound, sane, and healthy. She is going wtc with English or western tack, and has started over cross rails. She has correct, ground covering gaits, or can do a smooth jog if pleasure is more your style. We have started trail riding off-property with and without other horses recently and she has been great. Mostly trained in a rope halter or bitless bridle, very responsive and should be easy to transition to your preferred headgear. She is wonderfully responsive to light aids and fairly balanced between "whoa" and "go". She has good ground manners, ties, loads, stands for vet/farrier/bathing, easy to catch. She is an easy keeper, lives out 24-7 (can stall when needed), and goes barefoot. Her correct conformation and good pedigree make her a breeding prospect as well.

I would not say Sky is unsafe for a youth or low-intermediate rider working with a trainer, but she is green and can lack confidence in new situations (her usual go-to when uncertain is just to stop and look). At this time in her education I would recommend a quiet, confident rider to make sure she continues to develope to her full potential. I could see her becoming beginner safe with more time and miles.

I will continue to ride and train her regularly until she is sold, with multiple off-property rides planned this fall. If she is still here in the spring (and if COVID allows) I plan to take her to some local shows as well. Price may increase with training/experience. May be negotiable to the perfect home.
