Smith Equestrian is looking for a full time barn manager for our facility in Middleburg, VA. It's a friendly, fast paced environment and we're looking for a responsible horse professional to help keep all the various pieces running smoothly, while providing excellent oversight and care of the horses. We have a wonderful group of clients who run the gamut of competitive AA's showing in Eventing, Dressage and Show Jumping, to trail riders and everything in between. Some riding may be available, depending on experience and desire to do so. Competitive salary, stall for one horse and lessons are included, but this is not a live-in position. Qualifications:

  • MUST be reliable, responsible, self-motivated and a problem solver
  • Grooming: tacking/untacking, bathing, clipping, trimming, braiding
  • Ability to administer IM/IV shots, perform first aid and wrap legs
  • Good communication skills and excellent client relations
  • Excellent record keeping
  • Ability to drive truck and trailer (bonus)
  • Ability to exercise horses on the flat and confidently ride out (bonus)
