Very kind and bold, easy to handle on the ground, loves people. He has great gaits with a big, bold movement that easily keeps up with larger horses. Athletic enough to show, jump,....whatever. He stands for farrier and fly spray, loads like a dream, drives in a cart wonderfully even alongside traffic, goes anywhere you point him on a trail, really THINKS when he encounters something new or strange on the trail or comes up to trappy footing, always with a "can do" attitude.
He's very substantial with big bone. The girl riding him in the video is 5'6" and the man riding him in the photo next to the gate is 5'7 and 175lbs. Rides english or western, leg yields, moves off of weight, sidepasses. Can be kept with other horses or by himself.
He is a pony that needs a job. While he is confident and bold, he can be "pony-headed" if he is bored, so the more he does, the better he is. For this reason, I do not think he is (right now) suitable for a beginner, but for a smaller adult or a confident youth, who wants to really get out and do things, he is a blast.
When you watch the video, consider that this pony had never jumped before under saddle. We tried some poles, then trotted some cross rails, then just kept adding stuff because he kept looking at us like, "what else ya got?" He was in a ring he'd never been in, all by himself and really could not have cared less. This video was shot in about an hour. He had a ball and we quit because he was getting tired....he was out of shape at that time. He's very clever, brave, self-confident, loves new things, and always had a "can-do" attitude.
