Colonial Downs will open its doors to kick off its 2007 Thoroughbred Racing Season on Friday, June 15th and moving in full stride on Saturday, June 16th with our $750,000 Colonial Turf Cup, which starts the 5 Million Jacobs Investments Grand Slam of Grass Series. The season extends from Friday June 15th all the way till Tuesday August 7th. We are open for live racing Friday through Tuesday. Weekday post time is at 5 PM, and weekend post time is at 1 PM, gates open one hour prior to post time. General admission tickets are $2 and kids 12 and under are free.

We have many exciting summer event happening this summer. On Tuesday July 3 and Wednesday July 4 enjoy live racing both days starting at 5 PM followed by a patriotic trackside concert with the York River Concert Band (7/3) and the Chesterfield Community Concert Band (7/4) at 8:45 PM. Fireworks will fill the sky beginning at 9:30 pm. The $1 million Virginia Derby is in its tenth running this season, and it is the most prestigious annual horse race in Virginia and it is taking place on Saturday July 21 along with the Derby Trackside Party.
