Fox Chase Farm, an events center in Middleburg, VA that specializes in events such as horse shows, kicked off their multi-award winning show series on Saturday, January 12; this show was dedicated to horses divisions only. This is the 7th year for the Hanley memorial series and is the first of its kind in Northern Virginia to award the largest cash giveaway for “schooling” level horse shows.

“Our goal is to make horse showing a pleasant experience”, says show manager, Maureen Hanley, “The late nights that we’ve experienced in the past made for a long day for horses, staff and especially the exhibitor. So, this year we have split horses and ponies into two separate days. We want people to be able to come and enjoy showing at our location with the best of everything!”
Fox Chase Farm has spent thousands of dollars to make this series a great success for all. The Middleburg farm location has had many shows throughout the years (including Local Day) and the Hanley family has dedicated themselves to keep it a top notch show facility in an area rich in horse sports.
“You will be very hard pressed to find an equestrian facility in the area with the quality of footing and arenas that we have here,” says Hanley. With over $200,000 in upgrades to the facility in 2007 including brand new reconstructed arenas, and building of additional schooling arena near the indoor for the winter shows; dust-free footing that is exclusive from Extreme Level who reconstructed the arenas. Plus:
· Brand new show jumps from a top quality jump maker in Maryland
· Live plants and fill at all shows
· Division awards at every show
· Division awards at year-end show
· Special monogrammed wool coolers at the year-end show
· Party for all exhibitors and family in September
· AND of course a total of $12,000 cash is awarded!
What more could you ask for? The points for the series will be exclusive on VirginiaEquestrian.com! With one click away, exhibitors will find out what is happening at Fox Chase Farm with their exclusive media sponsor!
Exhibitors must compete in at least 3 out of the 8 shows in the horse shows, and 3 out of the 8 shows in the pony shows. The season runs from January and September, 2008. Prize money will be awarded to the overall highest point riders from first to third place, in the pony shows and first to third place in the horse shows, and top 6 trainers will also be awarded.

A schooling show is considered a starting point for amateur riders and horses; a stepping stone where they build their skills and confidence in order to earn the chance to compete in premiere international competitions. The next show at Fox Chase Farm is for pony divisions only on January 26, 2008 starting at 9am. Info. on www.foxchasefarm.net.
