As you organize your 2005 calendar of horse activities not to miss, be sure to note Friday, March 18, 2005. The Virginia Horse Council is having its Annual Meeting that date at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select in Chantilly, VA. This is adjacent to the Dulles Expo Center—site of the Second Annual Equine Event East, which will be taking place that weekend, March 18-20.

The VHC Annual Meeting is free and open to the public. The event promises food, fun, camaraderie, a cash bar, and updates on what’s going on in the Virginia horse industry. The reception will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the business meeting, including the election of officers for the new year. The Annual VHC Award winners will also be named at the meeting--including the announcement of the VHC Horse Person of the Year. Mike Jennings of Professional Auction Services in Leesburg will top off the evening, speaking on "Focus: The 2005 Horse Market."

In addition, if you join the Virginia Horse Council – or renew your membership-- you will be entitled to a raffle ticket for a free weekend getaway at the Marriott Ranch in Hume, VA.
