Middleburg, VA – March 15, 2009 – Fox Chase Farm, based in Middleburg, VA, is pleased to announce that it will play host the first United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Training Session of the Emerging Athlete’s Program at it’s facility in Middleburg, Virginia on April 4 & 5, 2009.

The USHJA is the national affiliate for hunters and jumpers. The USHJA Board of Directors developed the Emerging Athlete’s Program as a means to identify and support talented young riders competing at the grassroots level of competition in the sport. The Emerging Athlete’s Program will provide young riders with the opportunity to learn from our country’s top professional riders and trainers. The training sessions will evaluate the rider’s horsemanship, knowledge and riding ability.

“Fox Chase Farm is so proud to be the first host to the Emerging Athlete’s Program in the country! stated Maureen Hanley, Director of Operations of Fox Chase Farm, LLC. “The USHJA has so many great programs, and they always have the interests of their equestrians and horses in mind.”

Fox Chase Farm hosts the $20,000 TCH Fox Chase Show Series twice monthly and the series has recently been named an affiliate of the USHJA. This is the first non-rated horse shows series to be affiliated with the organization.

The Emerging Athletes Committee Members: Ronnie Beard - Co-Chair, Melanie Taylor - Co-Chair, Georgina Bloomberg, Sally Ike, Candace King, Kathy Moore, Katie Prudent, Alison Robitaille, Eliza Shuford and Chrystine Tauber. John Madden and George Morris serve as Advisors to the Committee
