The Memorial Day Benefit ride is USTR’s largest fund raising event annually. 2009 marks the 15th running of this popular ride. Over the past 7 years alone, USTR has raised and donated over twenty-thousand dollars to local non-profit organizations including:
Montgomery County, MD – Woodstock Equestrian Park Foundation
George Mason University Equestrian Club and Intercollegiate Team
VA Tech – Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center
Loudoun County Special Olympics Equestrian Team
ChildHelp USA – Equine Therapeutic Program
Loudoun Therapeutic Riding Foundation
Philomont Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad
Neersville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad
Middleburg Humane Foundation
Days End Farm Horse Rescue
Camp Highroad
Glenwood Park
This year’s funds will be used to develop and improve multi-use trails and public riding facilities in Loudoun County. With diminishing open space and private lands to ride and hike, USTR feels it is imperative to partner with local recreation departments.
USTR would like to thank participants, past and future, of this ride for your financial support – without you, it would not be possible to donate so generously. We would also like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers – without you, pulling this wonderful ride together would simply not be possible.
United States Trail Ride, Inc. a non-profit, Loudoun County-based volunteer organization, incorporated on March 30, 1987, is dedicated to preserving and creating multi-use trails for fun and pleasure. USTR presents a variety of educational programs throughout the year that are open to the public and that support and promote the local equestrian community.
