THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA: The stars were out in The Plains Sunday, and it wasn't even dark. Three of America's most famous faces -- and plenty of Virginia's -- played together in a charity match to benefit the new Capital Hospice near Leesburg.
Playing in a competitive 8-goal match, the Black Watch team beat out Outback Steakhouse 8-7, with a last-second score from Black Watch for the victory.
Playing for Black Watch were John Walsh, star host of the tv show America's Most Wanted, Ralph Lauren model - and 6-goal polo pro - Nacho Figueras, local polo star Ashley Van Metre and pro Juan Salinas.
For Outback were steakhouse chain founder Tim Gannon, fashion designer Salvatore Ferragamo, Great Meadow Polo manager John Gobin (a 6-goaler) and Argentine pro Jose Rodriguez.
