When you're hot you're hot. Zohar and Lisa Ben-Dov's Kinross Farm and trainer Neil Morris continued their torrid spring season with a sweep of the top two places in the $50,000 Virginia Gold Cup timber stakes Saturday at Great Meadow in The Plains. The win catapulted Kinross to the top of the NSA Owner-Money Won standings with $143,865 in purses so far this year.

Virginia-based Eldon Farm Racing Stable is ranked second with $115,077 and Mignon C. Smith's Mede Cahaba Stable is ranked ninth. Approximately one month ago in mid-April, Mede Cahaba was leading owner after earning $39,990 from just five starts. Since then the duo of Ben-Dov and Morris have been on a tear.

Miles Ahead, now unbeaten in four starts over timber, out-dueled stablemate Chinese Whisper to win the four-mile timber stakes. Chris Read rode the winner, while Paddy Young was aboard the runner-up. Dr. Ramsey (Zach Miller) was third with Charlie's Dewan (Chip Miller) fourth.

Virginia-based trainer Doug Fout, who currently leads the NSA Trainer - Money Won category won three races with Erin Go Bragh (NZ) in the Allowance Hurdle, Church Ghost in the Starter Allowance Hurdle and Beau Filou (NZ) in the Maiden Claiming Hurdle.

Fout, Ben-Dov and Morris will all be receiving special awards at the VTA Awards luncheon, Sunday, May 22, at the Fauquier Springs Country Club.

Other Great Meadow winners were:

Foxhunters'timber:HotItUp(Michael Finney).
Maiden hurdle: Meet At Eleven (Rob Massey).
