New Middleburg Hunt huntsman Barry Magner strided east on Middleburg's Main Street in defiance of the season's first snowstorm Saturday, December 5, leading the town's annual Christmas Parade. He was joined by some 60 formally attired hunt members and guests, along with two dozen of the club's tri-colored American foxhounds.
The hunt typically leads the festive parade, then heads out of town to draw first covert on their regular Saturday hunting day, but nearly three inches of snow fell on the region within four hours, forcing cancellation of all hunt meets and many other events.
