Do you think about your muscles when you ride? Do you feel like you have to use more effort to do simple tasks like turns? Do you find yourself getting stuck?

Next time think of riding from your bones. Picture how your skeletal is moving with your horse. This will free you up so that you stay with your horses movement and stay "in time" with your horse.

Remember that your nervous system is designed to tell the muscles what to do when you need them. If you consciously try to control the muscles you are focusing on something that your brain should be doing in background (like the operating system on your computer) Why not let your brain do its job? This will be far more efficient than consciously trying to control everything.

Think of the movement you want and how your skeleton needs to be positioned for that movement. Then let your brain tell your muscles what to do in order to achieve that position. If you aren't sure, get on a bench or a ball and work it out before you ride.

And always remember to Enjoy the Ride!
