Following on from a series of highly successful "Taste of Trec" clinics held each month throughout the State, Ride Trec are proud to announce the 1st RIDE TREC CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held on October 20th at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington.
Sponsored by the Virginia Horse Council, this is the chance we have all been waiting for to practice those new found Trec skills in a real, live competition! We are only running a Level One competition at this time, with Pairs and Individual categories, so don't worry about having to be a Trec 'expert' just yet.
We only introduced the sport to Virginia back in April with our first ever "Taste of Trec", clinic but interest in this new, challenging and fun sport continues to grow at such a rapid pace that we feel we are now ready to host a real competition ....... at last!
If you haven't yet attended a Clinic, or maybe want to hone those skills a little further, there is still time as we have a couple more Clinics planned for this month (check out our website http://www.ridetrec.us for more details on this, and to see the current events calendar which is updated regularly), but don't wait too long as spaces are filling up fast!
Here is the really exciting bit though, there are many opportunities for everyone to get involved in Trec - not just as a rider and competitor, but as an event Judge and/or Organizer too. We will be on the look-out for those who are willing to train (we have regular unmounted Judging Clinics) and to get involved not only in our Competition, but in our future expansion plans too.
Come and discover TREC for yourself, attend a Clinic, suggest a venue, become a Member, but above all get involved - horse or no horse, TREC has an abundance of opportunities to get involved in the fastest growing equine sport this side of the Atlantic.
