Northern Virginia Housing Market Continues to Improve

Northern Virginia housing inventory is at an all time low. Buyers are are taking advantage of low interest rates and well priced homes. Some areas are seeing multiple contracts while others see 30/60 days on market averages. Local real estate agents report that they are seeing record numbers of buyers through open houses even on cold winter weekends in January and February 2013. National Association of Realtors reported yesterday, that loan requests for home purchases, viewed as a leading indicator of future home sales, climbed 2.2 percent in the week ending Feb. 1. Refinancing applications increased 3.5 percent. These trends reinforce housing recovery and stability in Northern Virginia.
