Almeda Farm is hosting a Barrel Racing Clinic, June 17 and 18th, 2017 with Kortni Mcconnell of Hereford, Tx. Kortni is an up and coming barrel racer with deep family roots in rodeo. Kortni's mother trained futurity horses with wins at the Lazy E Futruity, Fort Smith Derby, Los Colinas Futurity along with qualifying multiple horses for AQHA World Finals in barrels and poles. Kortni, following in her mothers footsteps, started her own extensive resume at a young age. At 10 yrs old, Kortni won year end and rookie of the year for the Kansas Professional Rodeo Association and the Texas Cowboys Rodeo Association. After high school rodeo and qualifying for the National High School Finals, Kortni attended Tarleton State University on a rodeo scholarship. After obtaining her bachelors degree in Ag Economics, Kortni began working for Jud Little Ranch, in Ardmore ,Ok training barrel horses. Kortni had much success with several futurity horses during that time and won 6th in the Junior Class at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Since then, Kortni has struck out on her own rodeoing and training futurity horses for many clients. Kortni has a clear way of teaching basics, foundation and horsemanship with barrels that benefit horse and rider. We are excited to learn from her! Clinic is two days, June 17 and 18th. Cost is $300 per horse/rider combination. Maximum number of participants is 10 people. Must reserve spot with deposit and registration. Auditors are welcome, $25 per day .
