"5th of July" Trail Ride and Party at Conway Robinson Forest in Gainesville. Conway Robinson features a neat picnic pavilion and plenty of tables and charcoal grills which makes for a great location for a picnic/party.
Ride time is 9:30 Sharp! Assuming there are plenty of riders, there will be a slow group and a fast group. Be saddled and ready to ride out at 9:30. Members and guests are all welcome and there is no fee to attend. Party will begin at approximately 12:00. You will need to email Forest Ranger Larry Dunn to obtain a parking pass ASAP, if you do not have one. Larry’s email address is dunnl@dof.state.va.us . He will send it back to you via email in MS Word format. It may take a day or two to receive your parking pass.
Conway Robinson Forest is a wonderful place to ride during these warm days. All of the trails are covered by a canopy of trees which keeps the area cooler than most other places to ride. The Forest is approximately 450 acres with approximately 5 miles or so of trails. You can also access the Manassas Battlefield for an extended ride. You will need your Battlefield pass to ride the Battlefield. The Forest is located on Rt. 29, about 2 miles north of the I-66/Rt. 29 interchange in Gainesville (towards the Battlefield) From Gainesville, the Forest will be on your left. Please bring bug spay! Bugs are bad this year.
