4th Annual “Black Tie & Boots”
To be held September 26, 2007
The State Fair of Virginia is proud to invite you to be part of our Black Tie & Boots benefit gala. Enjoy an exclusive V.I.P. preview of the Fair and celebrate all things Virginia, while helping to support the State Fair’s proven scholarship program. Kick up your heels with fun and funky live music, bid on fantastic live and silent auction items (including a stud fee for a nice APHA stud), and sip award-winning Virginia wine paired with delicious food. As you party with the animals, you will be helping the State Fair fulfill its mission of promoting youth, agriculture and education. All proceeds from the event go towards the State Fair of Virginia Scholarship Program, supporting scholarships earned through 25 competitive areas ranging from horticulture to dairy cattle to fine art.
Black Tie & Boots will take place in the historic William Bottomley Barn on September 26 and will kick off the opening of the 153rd State Fair the next day. While an elegant black-tie event, Black Tie & Boots also promises to be full of surprises, like gamboling goats and visitors from the Fair’s Wild Frontier Show. Last year’s guests included a baby bison and wolves! With the Fair as the stage, unexpected delights are around every corner.
After an exciting evening of bidding, dancing and celebration, guests will be treated to a “Grand Illumination” of the Fair’s Midway, complete with games and rides. Where else can you ride the Ferris wheel in your tuxedo or win a giant stuffed animal in heels?
