A variety of races sanctioned by the Virginia Steeplechase Association will be held over fences, timber, and on the flat. Amateurs are welcome to compete in other races including the quarter mile western race, light and heavy draft races, and the hunt relay race open to hunt club members on horses that have been fairly hunted. This race features teams of four baton-passing riders. In addition, all families with children will enjoy fun festivities, including the Jack Russell terrier races, pony rides, and a kids’ park with face painting and a balloon bounce. Gates open at 11 a.m. and the first race starts at 12:30. General admission is $7; packages including reserved rail parking spots are available.
