Bull Run Hunt is having a Junior Foxhunt on Monday, December 29, 2008 and we would like to invite any juniors to participate. Bull Run is a unique hunt in that we run three flights. First flight goes quickly and jumps, Second flight goes quickly and might have to jump 2' but only in rare occasions, Third flight is mostly walk/trot and rarely a canter over short distances (depends on riders in field). We appreciate any juniors that can turnout correctly but our Master's have said that as long as they appear neat and clean and are wearing appropriate riding boots and an ASTM helmet they are welcome (Plus it may be cold so they are encouraged to dress warmly)! No hunt affiliation is required!
Before the hunt we will be having a quick explanation of foxhunting skills and etiquette. We are asking that all Juniors be mounted and ready at 9:30am (hunt starts at 10am). Juniors will be given the opportunity to ride in the front of the field so that they can see all the action. After the hunt we will have a breakfast for everyone!
Our fixtures are mostly located along Rt 15 between Orange and Culpeper in Virginia. Please contact me if you have any questions! All horses will need a negative Coggins and all Juniors MUST have a signed liability waiver (from a parent). The cost is $25 per junior and any adult that brings a junior may also cap for $25.
