Viewing Event: Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Hosts July 11 Fundraiser at Colonial Downs

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation at James River cordially invites you to "An Afternoon in the Winner's Circle" at Colonial Downs on July 11th from noon to the last race. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased by going to www.jamesriverhorses.org or calling (518) 226-0028. The event will feature a champagne brunch, an equine art exhibit, an auction and raffle. The TRF James River site in Goochland County is one of nine correction-based programs where retired Thoroughbred racehorses are provided rehabilitation and TRF provides vocational training for the inmate caretakers. Begun in 2007, the local effort stables 25 horses and more than 27 men have been certified in horse care and stable management.
