In the French Classical tradition, Linda Bertschinger, trainer and instructor of Classicus will be teaching a workshop based on the work of masters such as Francois Baucher, Francois Robichon de la Gueriniere, and Nuno Olivera. Linda studied under Dominique Barbier, a protégée of Nuno Olivera, and in the French and Portuguese tradition continues to focus on Lightness in the training of horse and rider.
The workshop will teach students how to achieve relaxation and suppleness in the horse as well as balance and strength, all which are necessary to attain lightness. Students will learn Baucher’s flexions, La Guiniere’s shoulder-in, and Olivera’s riding in lightness. More advanced students may continue to all of the lateral movements and more upper level work such as piaffe,and canter pirouette.
