39 classes, starts at noon. Something for everyone!
Guidelines:
1. Entry fee for all classes is $10, unless otherwise noted.
2. Paybacks are 1st -$45, 2nd -$20, 3rd -$12, 4th -$10, unless otherwise noted.
3. Ribbons - 1st-5th
4. All entries shall conform to the Federal Horse Protection Act.
5. For all “game” classes, horses must walk into and out of the ring. The gate will be closed after
each exhibitor.
6. The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to combine or cancel classes.
7. If there is only one entry in the class, 2nd place money will be awarded.
8. Age is based on participant’s age day of show.
9. Horses are not permitted above the horse show ring on the carnival grounds.
10. The decision of the judge is final.
11. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times and remain in parking area. No dogs are allowed on the
fairgrounds.
12. A negative current coggins (dated within 12 months) must be presented before the horse will be
permitted on the show grounds. The coggins must also be presented at the entry booth.
13. No alcohol will be permitted on the fairground property.
14. Equines that exhibit uncontrolled behavior will be asked to leave the ring and/or show grounds.
15. Anyone exhibiting unsportsmanlike or inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave.
16. The Highland County Fair Association, Inc. will not be responsible for injury to any person or
horse at any time.
17. Please enter the fair grounds from US 220 (Jackson River Road).
18. Food will be available on the fair grounds
Directions
At the flashing light in downtown Monterey, proceed South on 220 approximately 1 mile and turn into the fairgrounds on the left immediately following the swimming pool.
