Trail ride weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Benefit event for the volunteer fire and rescue squad. Arrive after noon on Friday. Self-guided trails available Sat. and Sun morning. Primitive campsites with restroom/shower facilities available in the fire station. Bring your own horse, food, and prepare to enjoy a wonderful fall weekend. $50/rider
Fire & rescue crew will be making fresh appble butter the same weekend. Courtesy morning coffee.
Directions
15 Fork Mountain Lane (route 667) in Montebello, VA 24464. GPS directions are unreliable. Best approach is by the Blue Ridge Parkway. Exit milepost 29 onto route 813 (Whetstone Ridge Rd.) In .1 mile turn left on route 603 (Irish Creek Rd). In .2 mile, turn right on VA 56. In about 3 miles you will see the village of Montebello. Turn left on VA 667 (Fork Mountain Ln.)
