Dear Equine Friends,
I wanted to invite you and others in our horse community to an informational seminar on Infrared Imaging as a diagnostic tool for horses. I am sure most of you have experienced horses with unclear lameness issues, behavioral issues possibly related to undiagnosed pain, saddle fit issues you were wondering about or if a certain diagnosed lameness is the result of something else which is undiagnosed. Frustrating to say the least, not to mention the hundreds/ thousands for the costs of xrays, ultrasound, MRI and nuclear scans.
Rick Kurek will be in our area on October 29th at 1:00 pm. Rick is a technician trained in EquineIR, who may be able to offer a very affordable solution for those of us stuck on what to do next for our equine partners. Infrared Imaging for horses has been perfected over the last several years and enables a trained technician to do an entire body scan of your horse to determine areas of inflammation which can contribute to lameness/pain/behavioral issues.
Its uses include pre-purchase, hoof balancing, inflammation, diagnostic and preventative medicine, pre event imaging, and muscle/nerve injury. The results are interpreted by Board Certified veterinarians with specific training in Infrared Imaging. The procedure is done at YOUR barn and is NOT invasive in any way. There is a minimal amount of preparation to do before a scan. The best part is that the average body scan is about $250.00, far less than any other diagnostic tools, and seems like a great way to identify areas of discomfort. Beats throwing darts!! Expensive darts!
The seminar is free of charge and Rick Kurek can answer any questions you may have. You will also be able to view a scan being performed and the interpretation of the scan. Given the amount of soundness issues we crazy horse people are faced with somewhat regularly, I though this might offer an interesting and cost effective alternative !! Please feel free to invite any horsey friends who may be interested and Equine massage therapists are welcome to come and network.
Also, anyone choosing to have a Equine IR scan of their horse done as a result of this clinic will receive a discount.
Full Horse Scan : $225.00 reg $250.00
Saddle Fit : $150.00 reg. $185.00
Full Horse Scan and Saddle Fit: $350.00 reg $435.00
If you are interested in attending the seminar please email me at jcr802@comcast.net. as space may become limited!!!
Thanks and hope to see you there!
