Aude Bauserman Clinic – April 6-7th 2013
River Hill Stables, Luray, Virginia

Have you always wanted to try dressage but were too afraid, or are you a seasoned dressage rider that has hit some major training issues? Come and join us at River Hill stables for a clinic with Aude Bauserman and enjoy an extremely educational, fun and relaxed clinic in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Perfect for those looking to get ready for the warmer weather and show season as well as those who want to just try something new. Advancing both horse and rider’s skills with classical friendly instruction. All horses and riders of all experiences and levels are welcome to attend. The beginner and novice riders will gain correct and solid foundations and the more advanced riders and competitors enhance their skills. A great learning experience for the green horse, providing positive “mileage” away from the familiarity of home but without the pressure of the show environment. Have fun, relax and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow horse lovers while improving your skills and techniques.

Come for one day or for both. Accommodations available but please contact audebauserman@hotmail.com for more information. Send all applications and checks to Aude Bauserman 1306 East Main Street, Luray VA 22835. All monies must be paid in advance of clinic with a 24 hour cancelation policy. All horses must provide proof of coggins and helmets are required.

Theory
Dressage is for every horse in every discipline it does not have to stand alone. There is so much to gain across all disciplines. The basics for a dressage horse also apply to horses of all types of riding. The same is true for the rider--the balanced seat and judicious application of aides required by dressage make anyone a better rider, regardless of the style saddle they use. You can use it to open and shut gates, improve your horse's response to your leg, seat and hand, and even to improve your horse's gaits. A balanced horse, carrying himself properly, is a smooth ride, no matter what your equestrian style or sport or overall goal. My theory could not be better summarized by a quote from Commandant de Padirac “while forging they become blacksmiths” it loses a little in translation but he was right. All horses have to be molded and it is not a fast process but rather one that needs time. To find happiness on any horse is to do the best we can to work in harmony with him. It is not a function of being quick or being able to impress or always being elegant but rather the fundamentals and accomplishing a solid foundation.
