CFC Farm & Home Center and Old Waterloo Equine Clinic present another in the “Chili & Chocolate Equine Seminar Series,” Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 6:00 p.m., at the Fauquier County Fairgrounds.
The Chili & Chocolate Equine Seminar Series has become a spring favorite, combining an evening of various kinds of chili for supper, and assorted chocolate desserts, with equine experts speaking on matters of interest to horse owners.
On Wednesday, March 13, the speakers will be Tena Boyd, DVM of Old Waterloo Equine Clinic and Kathleen Crandall, PhD, Equine Nutritionist with Kentucky Equine Research. Dr. Boyd’s topic is "Colic: A Pain in the Gut; The most common colic disorders, causes, treatment options, and prevention measures explained." Dr. Crandall will be speaking on “The Hoedown on Hay and Pasture.”
As part of this special event, Harry de Leyer, owner of the legendary jumper “Snowman,” will be signing copies of The Eighty Dollar Champion, the story of a horse bound for the glue factory who became a champion.
Doors open at 6:00p.m., with Harry de Leyer signing copies of The Eighty Dollar Champion; Chili & Chocolate will begin at 6:30; and the speakers will begin at 7:00. The evening should wrap up by 9:00. The Fauquier County Fairgrounds are located at 6203 Old Auburn Road in Warrenton, VA.
There will be copies of The Eighty Dollar Champion on sale for $16.00. You are welcome to bring your own for signing, if you have one.
