Don’t Miss the Unbridled Excitement of the New Equine Extravaganza Coming November 1-3 to Meadow Event Park
Equine Extravaganza, the Virginia equestrian festival and expo now owned by the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, has announced an exciting new program for November 1-3. What better place for horse lovers to gather for three full days of “everything equine” than at Meadow Event Park in Doswell, the birthplace of the legendary Secretariat. From educational clinics, lively entertainment and outstanding shopping, horse lovers can immerse themselves in a total equestrian experience.
The show will present more than 100 clinics and demonstrations by top horse industry experts from across the country. Key presenters include Julie Goodnight, versatile trainer and popular host of “Horse Master” on RFD-TV; Ken McNabb, true “American Cowboy” and host of “Discovering the Horseman Within” on RFD-TV; Dr. Robert Miller, equine behaviorist and veterinarian who created imprint training for foals; and Ron McLoughlin, classical stock seat trainer, to name a few. Topics will range from natural horsemanship, dressage, reining, jumping, trail riding, gaited riding, cowboy mounted shooting, barrel racing, therapeutic riding, holistic health, therapeutic riding and more.
In addition to a power-packed educational program, the exhibit hall will be bustling with vendors from all over the country offering horse enthusiasts a spectacular array of products and services just in time for holiday shopping. Other program highlights of Equine Extravaganza include a Mounted Police Horse Obstacle Course; Breed and Stallion Pavilion; Trail Challenge; a “Virginia’s Finest Pavilion” showcasing gourmet foods and wines, along with local craft beers; narrated tours of the historic property; rides in a “surrey with the fringe on top;” and a Kids Corral with “horsey” activities for children.
The special events at Equine Extravaganza will be extra special this year. As befitting the farm’s heritage, there will be an exclusive Secretariat-themed event, the only one of its kind in Virginia. More details will be announced later. Additionally there will be an extensive array of official Secretariat merchandise available at the expo, along with book signings.
The spectacular Ma'Ceo Gypsy Festival Equestrian Show will make its first full production appearance in Virginia under the Big Top at our Equine Extravaganza. Ten beautiful breeds of horses and their daring riders will dazzle the audience with thrilling equestrian arts in this high-energy exhibition choreographed to rich acoustic gypsy music.
