About the Clinicans:
Julie B Winkel, of Reno, Nevada, owns and operates Maplewood Stables, Inc., and is a trainer, judge and popular clinician. She's trained and shown hunters and jumpers to the top levels, nationally and internationally, and has had many grand prix wins and hunter championships throughout her riding career. She's presided as a Licensed USEF Judge over many of the best shows in the country, including Devon (Pa.), the Pennsylvania National, the Washington (D.C.) International, the National Horse Show, Capital Challenge (Md.), The Hampton Classic (N.Y.), Upperville (Va.), the US Pony Finals (Ky.) and the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships (Ky.), to name just a few. She has been judging for over 30 years. Julie is also a respected course designer and has judged the New England Equitation Finals, the ASPCA Maclay Finals, the USEF Medal Finals (in 2007 with Geoff Teall, in 2010 with George Morris, and she is scheduled to judge the USEF Medal Finals in 2015 with Scott Hofstetter). Julie gives back to the sport in a variety of ways, including generously volunteering her time to the USEF and USHJA, including as a past member of the USHJA Board of Directors. She's currently co-chair of the USEF Licensed Officials Committee, chair of the USEF Continu-ing Education and chair of the USHJA Judges Task Force. She's also a member of the USHJA Zone 10 Jumper Committee. Julie also writes the monthly column "Conformation Clinic" for Practical Horseman magazine. In between her travels, Julie oversees her Maplewood, a 150-acre training, sales and breeding facility. Maplewood also stands two stallions, the grand prix jumpers Osilvis and Cartouche Z.

Geoff Teall, 2015 USHJA National Vice President and head trainer and owner of Montoga, Inc has been involved in the horse industry for over 35 years. He has trained hunter champions and reserve champions at shows such as Lake Placid, South Hampton, Winter Equestrian Festival, Capital Challenge, Devon, Harrisburg, Washington, and the National Horse Show. He has also trained equitation champions and reserves at all major horse shows including the USEF Medal Finals, USEF Talent Search Finals,USEF Pony Medal Finals, THIS Children's MEdal Finals, Ariat Adult Medal Finals and several different ASPCA Regional Finals. He has trained several jumper riders from the start of their jumper careers to their first Grand Prix wins. Geoff holds his "R" Hunter and Hunter Equitation license. He has judged most major hunter shows including the Winter Equestrian Festival, Washington International Horse Show and the National Horse Show. In the equitation division he has judged several ASPCA Regional Finals, the Royal Winter Fair, WIHS Equitation Finals,the USEF Pony Medal Finals and the USEF Medal Finals.Very involved in the governance of our sport, Geoff currently serves on the Board of Directors of the USHJA Foundation. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the WCHR Committee, Chairman of the Professionals Task Force and is also seated on the USHJA Hunter Working Group and the USEF Drugs and Medications Committee. Geoff is also the author of "Geoff Teall on Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation" and contributes as a writer to many publications.
