Locust Hill Preserve - 8070 North James Madison Highway, Rapidan, VA 22733
Come camp with your horse and friends while riding through some of the most gorgeous hunt country in Virginia! All proceeds go to Bull Run Hunt for the care of the hounds and management of the territory.
Registration is OPEN! Spots are Limited! Register early to reserve yours!
$70 for Adults , $45 for 12 & Under, $35 for Non-Riders
Pre-registration is REQUIRED
Schedule
Friday, April 28 - 7 mile short rides (no meals provided) - NO ARRIVALS BEFORE NOON
Saturday, April 29 - 15 mile or 20 mile ride, Breakfast, Lunch on trail, and Dinner with Live Music provided
Sunday, April 30 - 12 mile ride, Continental Breakfast provided

Shoes or hoof protection is recommended for sensitive horses.
There will be some small mountain trails and possible gravel areas.
Rules and Information
This is primitive camping - No hook-up, no electric
HELMETS recommended for all riders, REQUIRED for under 18
NO GENERATORS AFTER 11PM (Medical Exceptions ONLY)
Horse Water will be available
Campfires in containers IF fire law allows (weather dependent)
20x20 pens max
Absolutely NO Alcohol on the Trail
NO SMOKING on trails.
NO trash on trails.
NO loose dogs! NO EXCEPTIONS - if your dog is loose you will be told to leave. Dogs MUST be confined or tied at camp! NO DOGS ON TRAIL!
No ponying or double riding
Horse water available on the longer trails either by natural waterway or container.
Do not leave the trail you are riding each day.
If you encounter Ground Bees, ride fast for 200 yards before stopping!
Please pull over and make way for faster riders.
PLEASE STAY OFF CROPS - The ride is on PRIVATE land with the generosity of our landowners. Please be courteous and appreciative to anyone you see.
No one out on trail before 8:30am (12:30 on Friday) and ONLY ride the designated ride each day. We have made special arrangements with landowners so they know when to expect people.
***Management reserves the right to evict any unruly horse or rider without refund***
No refunds, No transfers - not fair to folks on the wait list. The rides go RAIN or SHINE.
